Cannabis Products
Various contaminants, including microorganisms, manufacturing residues and allergens, can compromise the quality of cannabis in the field or during harvest and processing. This can lead to spoiled products or ingredient contamination, directly impacting consumer health. To keep consumers safe and comply with safety standards, Hygiena offers rapid testing solutions to help producers and testing laboratories ensure they provide safe and high-quality cannabis products. From environmental monitoring to specific organism testing, we have assays designed and validated for all kinds of matrices.
Hygiena’s EnSURE™ Touch Monitoring System and easy-to-use devices (UltraSnap, SuperSnap™) detect ATP, whose low levels help to verify that cleaning procedures, sanitation chemicals, and personnel are effectively removing contamination before production starts.
For THC analysis, Hygiena offers a quantitative ELISA designed to detect the levels of D9-tetrahydrocannabinol in cannabis and hemp products, including flowers, concentrates, and edibles.
Hygiena provides a series of PCR kits to detect key pathogens and other microorganisms. The BAX® System Real-Time PCR Assays for Salmonella, E.coli O157:H7, and STEC organisms have been validated for the use on dried cannabis flowers and dried hemp flowers, with results available in as little as 24 hours. In addition, our foodproof® assays are designed to allow for a broad spectrum of cannabis testing on multiple matrices. Assays can detect pathogens as well as quantify yeasts and molds.
