Ochratoxin A is a toxic secondary metabolite of several Aspergillus and Penicillium molds. Human exposure has been linked to chronic kidney disease and renal impairment has also been observed in swine. Ochratoxin A is frequently detected in human foods and animal feed, making it essential to have a quantitative test to measure Ochratoxin A levels.
