BAX® Q7: How to Run a Thermal Test

The video demonstrates how to perform a BAX® Q7 thermal test, which checks the functionality of the top heater and heated sample block.

Steps to Perform a Thermal Test:

  1. Cool Down the Cycler – Turn off the Bax Q7 cycler and wait 15 minutes before restarting.
  2. Start the Software – After 15 minutes, turn the cycler back on and open the Bax Q7 software.
  3. Run the Test
    • Click the Diagnostics tab (top left).
    • Select Thermal Test (second to last option).
    • Ensure the test lid box is checked, then click Run Test.
  4. Check for Completion – When the test is complete, blue text will indicate "Test Complete." A warning will also appear, stating the lid is hot.
  5. Cool Down Again – Turn off the instrument and wait another 15 minutes before proceeding with runs.
  6. Report Results (if requested by Hygiena) – Take a screenshot of the thermal test dialogue box and email it to diagnostic support with your case number.
