BAX® System Real-time PCR Assay for Highly Pathogenic Salmonella

Not all Salmonella pose the same risk to public health. Based on the Highly Pathogenic Salmonella (HPS) concept developed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS), the BAX® System Real-Time PCR Assay for Highly Pathogenic Salmonella characterizes lysates prepared from poultry, beef, and pork enrichment cultures by detecting up to three virulence-associated genetic markers. These markers are linked to the Salmonella serotypes most frequently associated with human illness.

Designed for research and investigational applications, the assay provides insight into the virulence potential of Salmonella beyond traditional presence/absence testing.

With a convenient lyophilized format, internal positive control, and seamless integration into the BAX workflow, the assay is easy-to-use and provides results in under 90 minutes.

Results generated by this assay are intended exclusively for research and ecological surveillance. They shall NOT be used for food safety, regulatory, or product release decisions.
